About Stephen Hehn

Stephen Hehn is a pianist based in New England. Classically trained from the age of five, he developed an appreciation for the great composers – Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin – while studying under the supervision of his grandmother, Constance B. Hehn, an accomplished classical pianist who passed away in March 2004 at the age of 76.

Upon graduating from high school, Hehn became acquainted with the reflective, introspective musical stylings of David Lanz, Jim Brickman, George Winston, and David Benoit. After a year of traveling and working in almost every imaginable job sector, Hehn began his studies at the Berklee College of Music – where he developed an affinity for the piano jazz legends, such as Bill Evans and Dave Brubeck. Since that time, he has performed at weddings, shopping precincts, minor league hockey games, martini bars, and political fund-raisers.

From 2003-2004, Hehn spent the academic year working as a music-therapist-in-training with at-risk adolescents in a residential treatment facility. Currently on Wednesday and Friday evenings, he can often be found playing a wide variety of solo piano arrangements at Perennials Restaurant in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. A typical set list will include the music of Duke Ellington, Billy Joel, Coldplay, and Tori Amos, among countless others.

Now at the age of 25, Hehn is also writing and recording original compositions, which reflect the multiplicity of influences garnered throughout the past two-and-a-half decades. A full-length LP is now available through Amazon.com and Cdbaby.com, and can also be purchased at any of Stephen's live performances. In the meantime, wherever there is a piano, he will be playing in the passionate yet tranquil style that has become his trademark.
